Collin McHugh is a professional athlete. He’s a fine pitcher. Actually had a cup of coffee here in NY with the Mets. Won 19 games a couple years ago. Just won himself a World Series. And he is apparently also a baby back bitch. Probably one of those guys who calls his wife his “best friend” or, even worse, “my person.” Just the goddam worst.
Its not just Collin either. The Social Justice Warrior Brigade was all over this video. The most backlash I’ve personally seen since I (correctly) said that Al Jazeera = Al Qaeda. And I am genuinely baffled on this one. Out of all the things I’ve ever said THIS is one that gets the people goin??? Me saying that 23 years old is too young to get married??? Never in my career have I stood more by a piece of content than this. I whole heartedly believe in what I said and I’d imagine roughly 90% of the guys out there do too. Sure, there’s a hardo element to this thinking, and that is “hook up with as many chicks as humanly possible,” but guess what? That is a very, very real hardo element that exists inside every dude. You get married when you’re 23 and you’ll undoubtedly have a lifetime of “What If” thoughts, wishing you had spent more time dating and sleeping around. That aint fair to yourself or the chick you marry. But on top of that Tough Guy nonsense, there’s an aspect about you committing and settling down to live your life selflessly at an age when you should be living selfishly. At 23 you should be focused on yourself. Your career, your friends, checking off Bucket List type of shit. You got plenty of time – a lifetime, even – ahead of you where you can start living for another person where every decision you make takes another person’s feelings into account. Obviously the life of a professional athlete who will be worth hundreds of millions of dollars is different than our schmuck lives, but its all relative. And bottom line is you’re rushing into something that you dont need to rush into.
As far as the backlash on the content side of things – I actually believe that this video is now the litmus test. The barometer. Play this video for a guy (or girl, but its more geared towards the male mind) and if they agree or laugh, they are a normal person. And if you get offended by this, you are a complete fucking weirdo, a liar, or both. Or, you’re young, unmarried, idealistic, and don’t understand how the world works yet. In Collin McHugh’s case he’s 30 years old and married. So he’s either a total weirdo who can’t relate to the MOST basic of male sentiments, or he’s a liar and knows that I’m right and he’s putting up a front for his wife and the Social Justice Warriors of the world. Either way that dude sucks.
